English Golden Retriever Description

Orion is like the captain of the football team in our breeding program. Though he has such a glorious bear face and lion-like body, he is gentle as a lamb. In fact, the moment I saw the picture of our son, Roman, nestled against his regal side, I had one thought… “Aslan!” Orion loves to bound around our acreage, always holding a ball in his mouth with his tongue hanging out the side. He loves to play and follow the kids around all day. He also loves to lay at their feet like he is their great protector. Like all our English goldens, Orion is mellow tempered and affectionate. Things that cause him to stand out among our beloved goldens are: his rock solid body, big bear face, and incredibly luxurious coat. You see him, instantly want to go squeeze him, and when you do, you just melt when you feel his coat. You just want to stay curled up with him the rest of the day. It makes it hard sometimes to get your work done ☺

Orion’s coat consists of soft, thick, straight, medium length hair. Regarding color, in the English retrievers range from golden to light cream, Orion is consistenty light cream all over.  Some people, including some breeders, would incorrectly refer to Orion as a white golden retriever but there is no such thing as a "white golen retriever".  To learn more about coloring, the falicy of a white golden, and the term "English cream golden retriever", please read our FAQ.
